Prayer Request

David (name has been change) who is in rehab for 3 months to overcome his addiction to alcohol. His employer has guaranteed that if he is successful he will be able to return to work after a 1 year absence.

Donna as she is completing her course and entering her placement.

Paul, nine years old, was born with several birth defects and has spent most of his young life in hospital. He is facing more surgery.

Donna’s Story:

Donna, a single Mom has been a client of The Sharing Place for several years. Occasionally she has held jobs but with little education none that would allow her to earn a reasonable income. As depression set in and other health issues began to emmerge Donna gave up on herself.

Her hopes and dreams were for her son to obtain an excellent education and be able to earn a good living.

Last June Donna was blessed to see her son graduate from University. Though it had been a long journey
it was well worth all the effort Donna had sacrificed to encourage her son, helping him to achieve his
dreams. Shortly after graduation her son said to her “What about you Mom?”. Those words played over in Donna’s head and she thought ,” Yes. Why not me”. Donna has secured funding to go back to school at George Brown College to take a course in food services. “I won’t be coming here much longer” she says. “I feel so good about myself and the fact that I was accepted by the college and also to receive the funding”, she continues. Her dream is to work in a senior citizen residence when she finishes school.

Co-operative Friends of Jesus

Erwin Daw is a TSP board member and has been volunteering at TSP for the last six years or so.

Erwin is the one who set up the website for TSP. He also helps out on Thursdays when available and drives
some of the clients home after they receive their food.

Erwin is now attending Rosewood COTN’s church plant Solid Rock Community Church in Richmond Hill
Ontario.
